Medical and Emergency Resources

Mainely Meals
Mainely Meals is a neighborhood concept to provide nominally priced meals to people in Castine who are ill, infirm or otherwise housebound. The organization plans to deliver meals on Mondays and Thursdays to regular customers, or on a need basis for emergencies.

Eligible participants are those who are home bound due to illness, injury, age, recent childbirth, etc. If you believe that you or a family member might benefit from this program, leave your name and number on the Mainely Meals answering machine (326-8388) or with BAHR (326-8005), open week day mornings from 9-12.

Mainely Meals is an organization to add to the services provided by BAHR. BAHR will arrange for transportation for medical and dental appointments for those unable to drive, arrange to pick up prescriptions in either Blue Hill or Bucksport for those without transport. They have medical equipment to loan and current information about many health related organizations and support groups. Our aim is to be one of the support groups helping to keep people on their own homes. Mainely Meals welcomes volunteers who would be willing to deliver or prepare meals.
