Inventory & Analysis Chapters
The Castine comprehensive plan is an advisory document. It reflects the desired future of the town. Overall, it identifies current issues and opportunities that the town faces and discusses what is expected to happen within the next five to ten years. It is an update to the 1995 plan and replaces that document.
The plan consists of two major parts. The Inventory and Analysis discusses recent trends in the town and projects what may happen in the future. While it discusses some options for the town to consider, these are not recommendations. Rather, this section is a reference document that reflects conditions in the town as of early-2008 and data that were available at that time. Since all towns change rapidly, some of the information in this section may be out of date by the time the plan is adopted.
The following are draft versions. Additional draft chapters will be published in the near future. Please feel free to contact any member of the committee with your comments and suggestions. (File Format Information)
