Bagaduce Ambulance Needs Volunteers: Castine is a community of volunteers.  And, the ambulance corps is in need of volunteers.  Bagaduce Ambulance Corps (BAC) is facing the prospect of "out-of-service" days unless they recruit a few more EMTs.  The Corps is backed up by Peninsula Ambulance Corps in Blue Hill so there are no days without emergency medical coverage.  The difference is in the travel time required for an emergency crew to arrive at your door: 10 to 15 minutes for Bagaduce and 30 to 40 minutes for Peninsula.  Those minutes can make a difference.
BAC needs more EMTs to prevent out-of-service days.  The next EMT training course starts September 1st at Maine Maritime Academy and the course fees are paid by BAC.  For more information or to volunteer, call Bente Hartmann at 326-4450 or Harry Kaiserian at 326-9309.  Your community needs you!
